Most leaders show up, give updates, answer questions, and walk out thinking that was productive 🙃 But your manager is forming an opinion of you in every single meeting. The 1:1 format you use shapes whether they trust you and see you moving up... or not. 👇 4 things to cover on your 1:1s every week: 1️⃣ Start with wins → One or two business outcomes you moved since the last check-in. Not tasks. Outcomes. (This is how credibility gets built. Quietly, week over week.) 2️⃣ Roadblocks you resolved without them → Problems you handled on your own. This tells them you can carry the authority that comes with a bigger role. 3️⃣ What you need from them → Two or three specific asks, framed as "I need X to move Y forward by Z." Shows you're thinking ahead, not waiting for direction. 4️⃣ Confirm priorities before you leave → Your top three for the week, and ask if anything needs to shift. (They'll feel like they're leading a team that's actually moving together.) Run this every week.
